S.E.E. (Students for Equity through Education) was formed by high school students in Frisco ISD in order to shed light on the dire need for educational reform as a result of the systemic racism in our society. Our organization mobilizes youth to create more space for inclusivity in schools whether it is race-oriented, religion-oriented, or anything.
"Equality is typically defined as treating everyone the same and giving everyone access to the same opportunities. Meanwhile, equity refers to proportional representation (by race, class, gender, etc.) in those same opportunities." ~wssu~
Educational institutions must proactively work against the public health issues that surround marginalized communities in this country. This is our future, and it is time that we have a say in it.
